Blockchain analytics

Blockchain analytics tools, and the one built for wallets

Blockchain analytics covers four quite different kinds of tool. Picking the wrong one wastes an afternoon. Here is what each kind is for, and how wallet-level analytics works when the question is about a person rather than a coin.

How it works

  1. 1

    Name the question

About one transaction, a whole coin, a compliance case or one wallet? That picks the tool.

  2. 2

    Start from the wallet

For wallet questions, paste the address. Labels, funders and counterparties come back in seconds.

  3. 3

    Keep the evidence

Every link carries its transaction, and every table exports to CSV with full addresses.

The four kinds of blockchain analytics tool

KindExamplesGood forNot built for
Block explorersEtherscan, Solscan, BasescanChecking a single transaction or contractWho is behind a wallet; one chain at a time
Market dashboardsGlassnode, CryptoQuant, DuneCoin-wide trends such as exchange flowsAnything about one specific wallet
Compliance suitesChainalysis, TRM Labs, EllipticSanctions screening and case work for large firmsPrice and access for individuals and small teams
Wallet intelligenceArkham, Nansen, HalvionFunders, links and labels for one walletVaries by chain coverage and depth

Most people end up using two: an explorer for the fine detail of a transaction, and a wallet tool for the question they actually had.

Exchange deposits: the strongest single clue

Exchanges hand each customer a personal deposit address and sweep it into their hot wallet. Spot the sweep and you know the deposit address belongs to one exchange account. That turns a cloud of wallets into a short list of people far faster than any amount of chart reading.

Counterparties, ranked

Who a wallet deals with most says a lot about it. A bot trades with the same router thousands of times; a team wallet keeps paying the same handful of private addresses. The table ranks them by count, with dollar totals each way and a chain badge on every row.

Questions

›What is the best blockchain analytics tool?

It depends on the question. For one transaction, use an explorer. For a whole coin, a market dashboard. For a compliance case at a large firm, a compliance suite. For who is behind a wallet, a wallet intelligence tool such as this one.

›How much does it cost?

Basic is $50 a month for 300 lookups, Pro is $200 a month with unlimited lookups under fair use, and Desk starts at $500 a month with alerts. API access: contact us on Telegram.

›Is there a free trial?

You can open the sample reports on this site without an account to see exactly what a report contains.
